TWILIGHT

#925 (Twilight)

NEW RESONANCE STRATEGY IN WIDE FORMAT

#910, Resonance Strategy, 77 Expansion Events (38 pairs plus one).
24"h x 36"w
First application of the new resonance strategy to the wide format.
William Loveless glue paintings 2009.
Resonance Strategy works through repetition - each color formula applied in pairs which are spaced out on the composition to produce a subliminal unifying effect. To see how it functions, look at any color formula dot and then try to find its twin. Each of these color dots has a twin elsewhere in the composition.

NEW RESONANCE STRATEGY

#908 (60 pairs plus one), 36"x 36"
William Loveless glue paintings 2009
One of the compositional difficulties on these pieces is applying a variety of color formulas without verging on visual chaos. This new Resonance Strategy attempts to lend a feeling of unity through REPETITION - each color formula being repeated at a distant point in the composition. Each dot is a component of a pair. To see how it functions, look at any dot and then try to find its twin elsewhere in the composition.
